Admissions at Palmetto Beauty School is easy.  Just give us a call and discuss your situation with our Director, Bob Pearson.  We always provide the personal experience that you trust and deserve.  Here are the eligibility requirements.

ADMISSIONS REQUIREMENTS

Applicants must have completed high school, have a G.E.D. (general equivalency diploma), or pass an Ability to Benefit (ATB) test.  Applicants must provide positive proof of identification and age.  If a student wishes to be enrolled under the ATB umbrella, he/she must be above the age of compulsory school attendance and go through our approved provider and bring proof that the examination was passed successfully.

ADMISSIONS PROCEDURES

Initial admissions interviews are required of all individuals to determine and establish goals, qualifications, and objectives and to view the school facilities.  Appointments are recommended for students wishing to enroll, though the school has no objections to walk-ins.

CREDIT FOR PREVIOUS TRAINING

Credit for previous training will be granted on an examination basis, providing such credit is requested at the time of enrollment.  If a transfer student desires to have transfer hours credited, he/she must go through a formal skill evaluation (written & practical) to determine the skill level the student has upon entering our training program.  Transfer hours may not be totally credited if the student’s skill level does not meet our standards, or if too great a period of time has passed since the hours were earned.  If a student scores below 70% on the written test or if their practical abilities are below par we may require the student to spend a reasonable amount of time in the classroom prior to advancing to our clinic floor.

Transfer students must provide a transcript of previous hours and grades at the time of evaluation.  The transcript must clearly state the hours and grades for each subject.  Transfer students will be charged an hourly rate based upon the number of hours needed to complete the required hours mandated by the state of South Carolina.  Supply/Lab/ fees may be pro-rated based on the number of hours needed for completion.  If equipment or academic supplies are required the student will be charged the full amount.

 Financial Aid

Here at Palmetto Beauty School, we know that paying for your education can be difficult.  And the process of gaining Financial Aid is confusing and even a little intimidating.  We can walk you through this process so that you know where you stand.  If you have already filled out your FAFSA at http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/ please make sure that you have your Student Aid Report available when you get in touch with us.  If you have questions, please contact Doug Treadway at doug@palmettocosmo.com for information regarding Financial Aid.
